dashing dance week

i had a real good time this week albeit tiring with ached bodies and stuff cause...

it was my very own 'dance week'! Yeah! Let me count; i had not 1, not 2, not 3 but 6 dance sessions this week! OMG!

Monday was Emix practice we did Hip Hop- way cool!

revisited hip hop after 3 weeks of Jazz. I think its cool. though its fast and i dun really know some of the steps yet, i think the chereo is fun! there's even some partner moves. Justin was my dance partner anyway. he's very encouraging despite me making like lits mistakes. i barely see him dance but that day thought that he danced quite well nice wrist rolls and stuff. i love it when i have fun despite not being perfect! yay!

Tuesday was my first Hip Hop 1 at Jitterbugs! Kool too! class is a bit slow. I loved the warm up. A bit crowded though the class but its good cause i'm not the worst of the lot la.. hehe.. Met this nice girl.. Mandy, hope to see her the next class esp that shes the only one that i know. We learned nice 3 eights and ive been practising since. I needed this so brush up on hip hop techniques. But after the class i think it will improve my muscle memory more than techniques as they dun really concentrate that much on each execution. But muscle memory is wad i need so i all's well i guess.

Wednesday was my intermediate salsa session at LA since the school gym's undergoing repairs and stuff. Fun stuff too. revisit some of the moves i learnt previously.

Oh it was Fik's bda'e too. We got him a green Pony grafitti Tee and ate dinner at Anatolia.

Thursday was at Jitterbugs again! I decided to try out their funk jazz. was nervous. Haha. It was fun but class went a bit fast for me as im quite loss at the second set of eights already.. hehe (they did 4 eights!) And the turns too! THough i love the turns. There were several guys and they are all good! i suspect theyre in one fo the performing teasm or sth. anyway i can safely say that i am the Worst! do i was such a sport that i smiled most of the time. if u cant dance, smile?!? haha. a bit embarasssing but i wasnt hard on myself cause i only had like 2-3 previous jazz classes! I think jazz is so Cool casue it looks like ballet so! love turning tho i need lotsa work!

Friday! We had social in school!!! at the Admin bldg. Its was great!! hehe. had workshop which was full, we even did casino! Azrina came and i taught her some steps! :) i regretted asking a fren to dance with her casue they stopped prematurely.. :p then i was dancing with other girls and stuff.. she gave me a wrist band from her thai trip! i love!! :) so sweet.. Oh yeah Prof Mark Chong came too! he dances quite well! too bad neither of us was the opposite sex. LOL. score points? haha..

Sat? Saturday is Caderas Latinas of course. i need to brush up my foot work! esp for that hamelock! haha.. baadd.. i wasnt able to teach Wei yi.. :p Oh yeah Faye asked me whther i want to dance for Army roadshow! Just two couples the Aranafa/Convo routine. how daunting!! i really think im not there yet! haha. but i told her i will tell her my reply soon.. sounds challenging and exciting.. hmm very tempting.

Im getting better. i just need more corrective work and isolation. esp my 360s my hook turns and that posed thingge..

Back to work. thank god transcribing's over!

i woke up early but went back to bed as i felt tired. By the time i got up it's like 1150. I contemplated briefly and decided i should try and make it for class. But i had to spend more time in the toilet than i think i would. SO i decided not to be 20 mins late for class (if i take cab) and also not to go to class late and collect my badly done BP mid term.. So i decided to just stay home and eventually fell into another nap..

I feel tired- prob due to yesterday's cool emix routine.. hmm maybe its one of those Lazy epidemic hitting my immune system again..

I have yet to transcribe about 6 hours of interview! And most is on mechanical tape. Meaning i have to rewind them etc..

Can't help it im lazy. one of those days.. But this is bad la.. someone kick me.

fun nite II

Okie i must say it was a great nite! The highlight of which was the company i had with dear Kirti and Birthday girl Varsha and friends!

Let me begin with tonite's appetizer. First had quite a fun time with the Emix people at the potluck gathering at Monica's condo at The Sterling. I so love the lobby it smells so good! I was late but the first to arrive followed quickly by Nicole the ex president. We went up to Mon's place as Nicole needed to cut green apples for the smashing sprite fruit cocktail. Yummy.

By the time i got down, Justin, Julian and PK was there. THen the rest came. I think i am quite comfortable with them eventhough i think my dancing is nowhere there.. This is so unlike my inferiority complex which arises everytime im with band people. There's always this awe for them- due to the awe i had maybe still have for Yuhua Concert Band. Hence there's alwyas be this 'barrier' and status difference which i can't explain why i have it. Sum it all, the Emix people are good company. Theyre not 'bitchy' at all. in fact they're nice. I always have this unjustified perception that pretty dancers are lika proud and stuff.. Yay! Im quite fond of the Nicole who looks like she got caucasion blood but actually is Peranakan. She's quite funny! and Fun to tease. I think i like girls who are fun to tease. Haha. She got a nice smile too.

Actually, talking about smiles, i love a great smile anywhere! Great smiles really brighten up my day! I think Justin got a great smile too especially with his braces. I think i wanna get braces too! :p ANd ear studs.. but maybe not when im still living with my parents. Anyway the thing that they say that muslim men cannot pierce their ear as they won;t be able to represent their son during marriage- i think its flawed argument: I say pierce now, by the time my son is like legal age, the ear hole would definitely have covered up! hehe Evil me i think!

Okie dats too much digression. Anyway moving on, i joined the rest for the birthday party for Varsha and Sharbba at Marche. There were loads of people present! Anyway i can't believe they treated all of us! wow. Im so glad i came after much persuasion by Kirti- since Taufik didnt come cause he was helping out with some community project playing the kompang. (event which i escaped! Im glad this time i dun have any guilt for not agreeing to participate. phew.. )

After Marche, Varsha's parents drove her, Kirti and me back to her house which is a condo that's extremely BIG! the whole house must be like 3-4 times my 4 room HDB flat which is relativley larger than most.. Like WOw!! THe balcony itself must be like the size of my living room. (my living is quite big actually compared to some)

Her parents were great. Her mom very hospitable and friendly. And hwe had a great time in the car. Conversation, singing and laughs. :)

After which we were almost going up to the Equinox but we didnt.. Darn i thought at first cause i never been to the top floors of Swissotel and club! In the end we eneded up at Clarke QUay and went IndoChine!! Yay! its free entry (it was like 2am) So im so glad we get to dance for free literally! hehe.It is also quite a nice place with a center elevated platform that's quite big.

Had fun fooling around (clean fun here) and dancing. i ddint go all out cause im tired and not it was house but mainly because lots of new people. hehe. then again i think i dance nicely la.. hehe.

Had great day.. i need to rest now..zzzz

Need to mug for my Comms Quiz tmrw when i wake up later in the daylight.

had more than a few great laughs with my SMU seniors! SO fun the dinner and 'coffee'! muacks!

After my interview with Fiza about tampons (thks Fiza for still reading me bloggie!), we joined Yati and Mun for dinner at Swensen's at Funan. Food was good but the company was better! Had some catching up to do. Eveyrone updated abt everyone's working life and the most exciting is of course love life! Both Yati's and Mun's 'love' life seems quite happening and interesting! hehe. :p Kewl

After dinner we went to Cafe Cartel at Raffles City. I had this cool blue cola drink. Yum! Then Deen walked past us with Abby-wearing her new pretty Swarovski necklace! Pretty! Im so gonna get Swarvoski for me loved ones.. hehe.

Had such great company tonight. Great laughs. SOme almost killed us. ANd yeah make some others pee.. almost that is! I almost choked too. hehe. So fun! Yati, Munirah and FIza makes such great company! Love teasing them and cracking jokes. Most off all i love it that i can be so comfortable and spontaneous with 'em!

bummer me

i'm such a bummer esp during this fasting month. I guess i'm really a food junkie. Like if i dun eat i dun get motivated or sth. No energy no sugar to think or move. Maybe im just lazy, undisciplined sob. hehe :p i hope not!

So far i swear i have yet to done anything substantially effective/useful during the past 3 days of my summer terms. Bleauk. hehe.

I need to study for COmms, do the interviews, transcribe them, read Law, do some advance studying for law finals (like dat's gonna happen!), organize my files and notes, do social psycho readings and BP, organize my study table and wardrobe yet again.

also i wanna shop for Hari Raya clothes! i thinkk im gonna get lime green or black or both! I wanna go social tmrw too and hopefully dblo. :P

i need a muse. so i can get my fat ass of my bed!

24 years 9 days and counting

It's been nine days since my birthday!

After dinner today Deen, Mel and me went shopping around at Funan and Raffles City. We were mostly looking at wad Deen should wanna get for Abidah. Swarvoski rocks! they're so elegant and nice stuff esp the crystal wares. I so wanna get them for my mom or whoever for weddings, house warmings, etc. Lovely!

Oh yeah of course we hunted for other things. I found out today dat Mel adores Scandadavian 4U line too at Robinsons. Of course its for guys though she stil a fan! yay! i thought i was the only one who thinks theyre unique and nice!

Anyway i saw this extremely nice cool black ring with a tiny speck of crystal in the middle from Perlini's which is is splendid. i wanna get that. it cost $63 but it think its worth it!!! hehe.. :p experience tells me that i should get such to die for stuff no matter how broke, etc lest it will be gone- forever! (i'm gonna get it by thurs/fri afternoon!)

Among other things, im looking forward to buy a the brown addidas track pants so i can dance in! :) And prob more clothes from Scanadavian: tees and long sleeves to go sch and clubbing in; i wanna check out whats new at Bugis Village too; i wanna get a pair of white converse shoes! I wanna sign up for one more dance classes soon: either Salsa Hip Hop or Turns techniques! Oh yeah! i wanna dye my hair! streak it or sth.. as much as i wanna try blue and black: it is the fasting mth.. i think even ash or blonde looks more acceptable..

So exciting!

afraid of being struck

Sitting by myself in my neighborhood Mac Donald's and looking at the reflection of myself and the other patrons- some of whom are like me studying. The glass windows overlook into the basketball court where a few teenagers are bouncing off over a game and the left side a group of young children looking rather disciplined in their Silat wear.

It was my birthday, and i was feeling quite happy. Happy about the moment. Happy about being so comfortable being by myself wearing my denim jacket. More so happy because i am not even a tad gloomed at the fact that i need to study on my birthday. I like life when its this simple. Despite the urgency with the impending BP mid term exam the next noon, i basked in my mind thinking about some things in my life. Just random thoughts which made me thankful.

When i looked up again at the glass windows, the scenery changed with very heavy rain followed soon after with lighting and thunder. The amazing thing about the weather is that it fascinates you. And it reminded me of God in that moment. It reminded me that i am human and i have my fears. Particularly the tragic fear of being struck by lightning.

I think this is one of the saddest way to leave your loved ones. Its extremely tragic and there's just too many questions that we'll never get to ask. Cause in an instant all is gone, withou warning. And although it may seem random, it is all but part of the big design.

i fear getting struck by one. and for my body to lay on the ground, burnt and perhaps unidentifiable. With no one to know what had happened to me till hours later. With no last words and goodbyes. With no tears i leave the world.

I hurried past an exposed path from the Mac to the next building. Lightning was still striking, though much less. THe fear still present. I hurried soon after i saw a man approaching the opposite directions. If we get strike we are but alone.

The moment i arrived at shelter again, i felt the pleasant feeling once again. To live for another day!
