art week over

the arts fest week is finally over.

hectic for me but fun of course!

Performed on 2 salsa items on monday, Dikir Barat on thursday and flute solo with the nibori guitars and guzheng on fri.

i missed the social at Union Square with the caderas!! argh.. should have given them an sms man.. well there's always next time.

te new salsa trgs are cool.. though the warm up reminds me of army to some extent! lol.. im so embarassed cause im so not flexible... my split are like not even 90 degrees.. will be a long way till i make it into a perfect 190 split. hehe. i think its good, all the crunches and stuff.. i bet my abs will soon see the light of day! hehe

battle of the bands was a new experience for me. went to DXO to support Jamiel and his Band Royale.. cool! plus lots of other bands that are very technically talented.. esp the one hand drummer from Johor!!!

quest for perfection

the salsa performance was great today! Im sooo glad the Casino went a OK! despite the last minute changes and our 2 mini casinos late nite yesterday.. And the last minute refreseher really helps too.

The ironic thing was i screwed up for the Ran Kan Kan guys shines!!!! Arrggh.. damn. But was so cool that i dint panic and managed to join back soon after... YAY.. All thks to Coelho who shouted that i was wrong.. haha.. Hugs!

WIshed that my friends like Siti, Izan, CHeryl, Hana, Myra, Aishah was there.. and my sis also la.. since the latter always complain whenever i practice salsa at home.. she'd prob appreciate it and me at least slightly impressed with the final moves! :p Oh yeah thks to those who supported (deen..)

But.. albeit my relief and happiness; i would love to be more satsified with myself. Hence my quest for perfection is all but there.. I need to practice more and practice i will! i swear ill practice twice as much personally my next performances...

Okie, hmmm dat makes it the dikir barat this thursday!! Darn... so little time I have yet to memorize the songs and the sequence of the chereography...

oh yeah! My parents saw my 'maksiat' performance! (maksiat-sinful in islam) Okie its not that bad la.. albeit intimate... so far so good.. they didnt violently object to it.. hehe :p

busy week

week's have been v busy for me. and more to come.

Monday's first hip hop class was great. would have been greater if i was fast enough to catch up the popping, etc.. Lionel's really a cool and charming instructor. Old school hip hop is wicked man.. and im trying hard to catch up! anyway, he teased me during class- i somehow knew he will do that.. well now im a bit more relaxed knowing he acknolowedged my presence in his class. (Lionel's our salsa instructor too)

We just had Yue: Moon- Symphonia's mooncake festival celebration. :) It was quite cool. Its a bit sad i feel that i dun feel so 'at home' in symphonia.. i guess i always have this barrier due to cause i always have placed band people 'above' me primarily due o my star-struckness with the Glorious Yuhua Concert band! Yay! Well, in psychological terms; its a self fulfiling prophecy.. I secretly wish iw would be friendlier to the year ones but either its jadedness or just pure unfounded reservations on my part.

Rehearsing for Dikir is darn fun! i like! the company is not bad too. at least i feel quite at home.. hehe. with my cheeky self that is! I love taufik! hes funny and quite a character.. of course people like Lyn, Khai, Nad, Zaki, Nabilah, etc and the quirky year one guy which im finding it hard to retrieve from the deep recess of my conciousness.. (HELP i think someone's been conducting lobotomy w/o my knowledge.. duh!)

sats and sundays... rehearsals for dance AND dikir... i WILL NOT let my passion in the ARTS be in the way of what ought to be my first priority- studies! LOL (still trying hard at this)

I wanna watch Dance Reflections at NUS tmrw but i need a date... lol. ANd i want to make my hair funkier... coulndt affor to highlight it blue at the moment but i feel the urge to do sth else in conjuction with the arts fest performances!

Was fun while it lasted...

I guess good things have to come to an end. Especially when they were too good to be true. Especially in the case of my fav yr 2 fren who surprisingly was interested to join Emix and go for trial classes + auditions with me.

Khai told me today that he would have to cease going for Emix for family reasons. Well i guess its good to listen to your parents and give them what they want..

Its just sad thing. Cause one he is good hip hop dancer plus more so for me: i'll be losing a fren which im really fond of to accompany me to the classes and performances. Sigh..

Sigh. Although i said it was fun while it lasted, i secretly wish that i would have gone alone in the first place so that ill save on this dissapointment.. Especially after getting all excited and happy that we both got thru the auditions.. darn.

Wished things were different really.

But heck. I'll move on make frds with others in emix and adapt. (sth which is second nature to me) Well in other words its not that im sad that ill be losing someone i noe quite well in Emix, im just dissapointed that he had to leave..

Clubbing is always something that i look for. For the record i do not drink, smoke or blatantly ogle at girls, not to mention attempting to like touch them.. LOL

Anyway, despite still having reservations abt expressing myself fully via moi Blog, I will state the top 3 reasons why i LOVE clubbing;

Reason 3)
New shirt, new haircut: I love dressing up and looking cooler than cool and clubbing is the most apt opportunity to do it. (if only i have frds who are as 'narcissitic' as me and like dress up to go for even for a movie! hehe)

Reason 2)
I love dancing. Dancing to music is fun. Of course everyone will appreciate familiar songs. But it is even more challenging to get to the beat and groove to new music!

Be seen and spotted!! (with the components of reason 3 and 2 of course!) LoL


Anyway, moi blogging so late cause got back late from Rendezvous- School Freshmen Bash @ China Black (my fav club.. not that i've been to more than several in the first place!)

Was quite boring initially until the song got much better. Familiar songs are still to go esp for the masses (who generally have a moderate flair for creativity OR who just block out 'unknown songs'! :p)..

Danced the night away mostly with the Caderas Latinas people. (Coelho, Raphael, Julian, Sherry, Nicole, Kirti, And later; Eugene, Amanda, Alina, etc..)

But i realized that for me personally, i will enjoy it as long as i really get to dance my best. and the secret catalyst to that is 1- to have enough space and 2- to have a fun but capable 'dance partner'. Im so glad that Kirti was there. Cause we both seemed to enjoy dancing together despite being away from the group. I realized that those empty spaces away from the dancing area is actually suitable for moi. :p

oh yeah: one guy (fren of a fren) said that i danced very well. :p hehe cool! Best thing is i think he dance great too. so the'd prob be much weight in his statement.. He did ask me and said too bad i am already in my year 4.. if not... which i can't hear.. Willl find out tmrw!

i got in E-mix!! Yay! Its a potpurri of feelings- Overjoyed, proud, glad, excited and a relief! hehe..

I can't wait for the trainings to start the week after!

A- for Advertising

I got A- for Advertising. Not exactly the grade i was hoping for especially for my favorite subject AND one which i want to explore as a career. Anyway, some possible reasons why i didn't get an A or an A+;

1) 3 member team (one more could help esp with the report)
2) 2 other members took another course.
3) I had internship for the first 2 weeks!
4) the lack of imperfectionism within the group..
5) poor time management! (main factor!)

Okie, well, guess i have to keep this in mind to get my dean's list this academic year!

More importantly i need my honors!!!! im almost there!
